Metadata Delays

There are several metadata use-cases:

Pass-through: Metadata incurs the same delay as audio

Insert at output: Metadata is used directly at the Dolby encoder

For correct operation, the user must set up the unit to match the audio, video
and metadata frame delays.

Video Delay Blocks

The Imagestore 750 has three video output delays which are positioned
downstream of the keyers. They are assigned to the Program, Preview and
Clean Feed video outputs.

Note: There is no video delay block associated with the Monitor

output. Such delay is only seen at the Monitor output if it is
selected to actually monitor either of the Program, Preview or
Clean Feed outputs.

These delays may be used independently of the Dolby option, but are
primarily used to compensate for the audio delay through Dolby decode
and/or encode modules. Each video output delay is user-adjustable between 0
and 16 video frames.

Video frame delays may be set via the front panel (see page 165 for details),
or via the Configurator tool.

Note: When the DVE is “in circuit” then video output already incurs a

frame of delay.

Audio Delay Blocks

The audio engine has up to eight (8) audio delay blocks available for use
within a mixfile. Each audio delay block is sixteen (16) audio channels wide.
The audio delay blocks are configurable from the front panel (see page 130)
or via the Configurator tool.
