Configuring Dolby via Route Manager

Prior to version 2.0 software, audio configuration has always been done via
hand-crafted mixfiles. This is still possible, but the new graphical Route
Manager is now the recommended method for designing audio
configurations. The Route Manager is part of the Configurator tool, which
ships within the Miranda Conversion Software (MCS) CD.

MixFiles and Dolby Options

Mixfiles are still used “under-the-hood” to define the structure of the audio
processing circuit, including the inter-connection of Dolby decoders and
encoders. The difference with version 2.0 software is that this mixfile may be
generated graphically via the Route Manager. This is the recommended
option since the routing is much clearer compared with hand-crafting
mixfiles, and delays through audio modules can also be calculated
automatically by the Route Manager.

Note: Users upgrading to v2.0 or higher from v1.14.x software may

prefer to retain their previous audio mixfile.

References to Dolby modules within mixfiles are independent of the slot the
module is fitted into. Where two identical module types are fitted the
software automatically decides which is which, for example
“DOLBY_DECODER1” and “DOLBY_DECODER2”.

Connecting up Dolby modules in mixfiles is similar to connecting up audio
delay banks in the mixfile. Please see page 352 for the delays of different
audio modules.
