NOTE:
•
Specify a port in SLPR 0 when using LUN Manager to define an LU path to a data volume. It is
possible, but not recommended, that you specify a port in another SLPR when defining an LU path. For
more information about SLPR 0, see the HP StorageWorks XP Disk/Cache Partition user guide.
•
Volumes containing a volume management area (VMA) cannot be used as journal volumes. For more
information about VMA, see the HP StorageWorks LUN Security XP Extension user guide.
lists emulation types and capacities of logical volumes that can form pairs. For more
information, see ”
Continuous Access XP Journal also supports LUN Volume Manager on the local array, which allows you
to configure custom-size LUs that are smaller than standard-size LUs. When assigning custom-size LUs to a
Continuous Access XP Journal pair, the secondary data volume must have the same capacity as the
primary data volume.
lists the emulation types and capacities of the master and restore journal volumes that can be
used for Continuous Access XP Journal.
list the RAID-level combination of data and journal volumes in the journal group that can be
used for Continuous Access XP Journal.
RAID-5 and RAID-1 can coexist in the same journal group.
Maximum number of pairs
NOTE:
The number of pairs you can create in an array is limited.
Use the number of cylinders and bitmap areas to calculate the maximum number of pairs you can create
in an array.
•
Number of cylinders:
The number of pairs of a primary and a secondary data volume is limited. The number of pairs
depends on the volume capacity (that is, the number of cylinders in the volumes forming pairs). If you
use Custom Volume Size (CVS), the number of pairs depends on the number of cylinders that CVS
