110 Using journal groups
•
Forward Path Watch Time: Specifies if the master journal group’s Path Watch Time value is forwarded
to the restore journal group. If the Path Watch Time value is forwarded from the master journal group
to the restore journal group, the two journal groups have the same Path Watch Time value.
• Yes: Path Watch Time value is forwarded to the restore journal group.
• No: Path Watch Time value is not forwarded to the restore journal group. No is the default.
• Blank: The current setting of Forward Path Watch Time remains unchanged.
CAUTION:
This option cannot be specified at the secondary site.
•
Use of Cache: Specifies if journal data is stored in the restore journal group in cache.
• Use: Journal data is stored in cache.
NOTE:
When there is insufficient space in cache, journal data is also stored in the journal
volume.
• Not Use: Journal data is not stored in cache.
• Blank: The current Use of Cache setting remains unchanged.
CAUTION:
This setting does not take effect on master journal groups. However, if you use the
RAID Manager XP

command to change a master journal group to a restore
journal group, this setting takes effect on the journal group.

Speed of Line: Line speed of the data transfer. The unit is Mbps (megabits per second).
You can specify one of the following: 256, 100, or 10.
CAUTION:
This setting does not take effect on master journal groups. However, if you use the
RAID Manager XP

journal group, this setting takes effect on the journal group.

Set: Applies settings in the pane to the Journal Operation pane (

Cancel: Cancels settings.
Deleting journal groups
To delete a journal group from the primary array, log into the primary array.
To delete a journal group from the secondary array, log into the secondary array.
NOTE:
You cannot delete master and restore journal groups. You can only delete journal groups whose
attribute is Initial.

Ensure that Command View XP or XP Remote Web Console is in Modify mode. For more information,

Display the Journal Operation pane (see ”
Displaying the Journal Operation pane

Do one of the following:
• In the upper-right list, right-click a journal group whose attribute is Initial.
• In the tree, right-click a journal group in initial status ( ).

Select JNL Groups and Delete JNL.
5.
In the Preset list, check the journal groups you want to delete.
• To cancel deleting a journal group, right-click the journal group, and select Cancel.
