If an error occurs, the right-most column of the Preset list displays the error code. To view

detailed information about the error, right-click the error code, and select Error Detail. An error

Splitting mirrors (Pairsplit-r: suspending copy operations)

A mirror is a combination of a master journal group and a restore journal group. If you split a mirror,

copying data from the master journal group to the restore journal group is suspended.
To split a mirror, the primary and secondary array administrators can perform the following procedure:

1.

Ensure that Command View XP or XP Remote Web Console in Modify mode. For more information,

see the HP StorageWorks Command View XP user guide for XP Disk Arrays or the HP StorageWorks

XP Remote Web Console user guide for XP12000/XP10000/SVS200.

2.

Display the Journal Operation pane (see ”

Displaying the Journal Operation pane

” on page 95).

3.

Do one of the following:
• In the tree, select a master journal group (

) or restore journal group (

) from below

Registered.

• In the tree, select Subsystem or Registered, and select a master journal group (

) or restore

journal group (

) from the list to the right.

A list of mirrors is displayed. One row in the list represents one mirror.

4.

Locate mirrors that are in Active status.

5.

From the mirrors, select and right-click the mirrors you want to split.

6.

Select JNL Groups and Pairsplit-r.

7.

In the Pairsplit-r pane (

Figure 49

), specify parameters, and click Set.

8.

In the Preset list, check the mirrors you want to split.
• To modify a mirror’s parameters, select and right-click the mirror, and select Modify.
• To cancel splitting a mirror, select and right-click the mirror, and select Cancel.
• If necessary, repeat

step 3

through

step 8

to specify other mirrors.

9.

Click Apply.
