A Continuous Access XP Journal error
message is displayed on the Command
View XP management station.
Remove the error cause, and retry the Continuous Access XP Journal
operation.
The status of a logical path is not
normal.
Check the path status in the DKC Status pane, and see
The pair status is
suspended
.
Check the pair status in the Pairdisplay pane, and see
.
Paircreate or pairresync operation
resulted in a timeout error.
If the timeout error was caused by a hardware failure, a SIM is
generated. If this occurs, call you HP account support representative, and
retry Continuous Access XP Journal operations after the problem is
solved.
If no SIM was generated, wait for 5 or 6 minutes, and check the pair
status of the pairs being created or resumed. If the pair status changed
correctly, the failed operation completed after the timeout message was
issued. If the pair status did not change as expected, a heavy workload
might have prevented the Continuous Access XP Journal operation from
completing. In this case, retry the Continuous Access XP Journal
operation when the array has a lighter workload.
If a communications error occurs between the Command View XP
management station and the SVP, see the HP StorageWorks Command
View XP user guide for XP Disk Arrays for instructions.
There is a pinned track on a
Continuous Access XP Journal volume.
See ”
Pinned track recovery for Continuous Access XP Journal volumes”
for instructions.

Description

Initialization Failed
Link initialization procedure for the
remote array failed.
Ensure that the local and remote arrays
are connected correctly via cables.
Ensure that you entered the correct
serial number (S/N) of the remote array
and the correct path parameters (for
example, local array port, remote array
port, and controller ID).
Ensure that the topology settings of the
local and remote array ports are
correct.
Communication Time Out
Communication between the local and
remote arrays timed out.
Ensure that the remote array is powered
on, and NVS and cache are fully
functional.
Ensure that the network relay devices
(cables, connectors, switches, ESCDs,
extender devices, communication lines,
and all other devices connected to the
extenders) are properly configured and
functional.
Delete the failed path. You might need
to change the minimum paths setting or
delete the remote array to delete the
path. After deletion finishes, add the
path or remote array.
