If the Continuous Access XP Journal S-VOL contains a file system, you must delete the file system using
the enas_fsdelete command in NAS Blade Manager before starting Continuous Access XP Journal
operations. Also, if you use the Continuous Access XP Journal S-VOL for the Snapshot feature in NAS
Backup Restore, you must delete the Snapshot definitions using the snapvoldel command before starting
Continuous Access XP Journal operations. If the differential-data storage device of NAS Sync Image is
in the Continuous Access XP Journal S VOL, you must release it using the syncstop command before
starting Continuous Access XP Journal operations.

1.
At the primary and secondary sites, start RAID Manager XP.
sudo horcmstart.sh (1-instance configuration)
sudo horcmstart.sh 16 17
2.
At the secondary site, reserve the device file used as a target file system.
• Non-LVM:
sudo horc_svol_define -d Device file number
• LVM:
sudo horc_svol_vmdefine -d Device file number,...
3.
At the primary site, create a Continuous Access XP Journal volume pair.
sudo paircreate {-g group-name|-d volume-name} -f {never|async} -vl -jp master journal group ID
-js restore journal group ID
4.
At the primary site, check the completion of the Continuous Access XP Journal volume pair creation.
sudo pairvolchk {-g group-name|-d volume-name}
NOTE:
You can also use the pairevtwait command, which waits for the volumes to be paired.
