When the host name is specified in the RAID Manager XP configuration definition file and you change
the following system configurations, you must change the configuration definition file:
• Editing the /etc/hosts file (when resolving the host name using the /etc/hosts file)
• Changing registration information on NIS servers, or changing settings for NIS servers (when
resolving the host name using NIS)
• Changing registration information on DNS servers, or changing settings for DNS servers
(when resolving the host name using DNS)
•
Notes on using external volumes
For periodic maintenance of external LUs, you must delete all Continuous Access XP Journal pairs once.
Preparing for Continuous Access XP Journal operations
Preparing for Continuous Access XP Journal volume pair operations
See
Configuring primary and secondary arrays for Continuous Access XP Journal operations
and prepare
for creating Continuous Access XP Journal volume pairs. However, when performing Continuous Access
XP Journal pair operations (which are mentioned in step 8 and later in that section), see
and later sections and use RAID Manager XP to perform the operations.
Registration of public key used for SSH
Before issuing the commands described in this document, the public key used for SSH must be registered
in the NAS package in which the Continuous Access XP Journal P-VOL is connected and also in the
NAS package that uses the S-VOL. For the registration of the public key, see the NAS Blade Manager
User's Guide.
Configuring the RAID Manager XP environment
Log in to the target NAS package using SSH
Using the nasroot account via SSH, log in the NAS package in which the Continuous Access XP P-VOL is
connected and the NAS package that uses the S-VOL. (For information about login, see the appropriate
documentation for each tool in a platform.)
Configure RAID Manager XP configuration definition files
To control a Continuous Access XP Journal pair using RAID Manager XP, you must first define the
Continuous Access XP Journal pair using the RAID Manager XP configuration definition file.
Installing NAS Backup Restore creates templates of the RAID Manager XP configuration definition file in
which only the HORCM_MON section and the HORCM_CMD section are described.
•
The template of the RAID Manager XP configuration definition file for instance number 16 is:
/home/nasroot/horcm16.conf
•
The template of the RAID Manager XP configuration definition file for instance number 17 is:
/home/nasroot/horcm17.conf
To complete the RAID Manager XP configuration definition file:
1.
Add the HORCM_DEV and HORCM_INST sections to a template for the RAID Manager XP
configuration definition file using the mkconf.sh command in RAID Manager XP.
2.
Edit the file and create the RAID Manager XP configuration definition file.
You must perform these operations in each NAS package in CL1 and CL2 where the Continuous Access
XP Journal P-VOL is connected and in each NAS package in CL1 and CL2 that uses the S VOL. Therefore,
