If no operand is specified, this command changes the way the error log
appears in subsequent sessions. By default, the

errShow

command

displays error messages from both the active session and persistent logs from
previous sessions. However, using the

errclear

command with no

operands makes the following change: in future sessions, you would have to
use the

errShow -p

command specifically to view persistent error

messages.

The following example shows how to clear the persistent error log on the Active
CP.

Example:

Setting the Error Save Level of a Switch

To control types of messages that are saved in the persistent error log:

1. Log in to the switch as the admin user.

2. At the command line enter the

errsavelvlset

command.

The following example shows how to enable saving of Warning, Error, Critical
and Panic messages in the persistent error log.

Example

By default, all messages of type Panic and Critical are saved in the persistent log.

Displaying the Current Error Save Level Setting of a Switch

To find out the current value of the persistent error log save level for a given
switch instance:

1. Log in to the switch as the admin user.

2. Enter the

errsavelvlshow

command at the command line.

The following example shows how to display current error log save level.

switch:admin> errclear -p

switch:admin>

switch:admin> errsavelvlset 3

switch:admin>
