SNMP Agent
A test is performed on the SNMP Agent that reports the activities of
devices such as workstation, switches, and routers to the console
that oversees the network.
Test setup
If Active Discovery does not detect the SNMP Agent-under-test,
then it can be manually added. The name or address of the SNMP
Agent is typed in at the first setup screen. The next setup screen
provides a list of measurements performed during the test. Select a
measurement from the list and press Edit to view and modify the
thresholds used to rate the performance of the measurement.
The following measurements are taken during the test.
Name Lookup The request or response time for converting a name
into an address.
PING Response The time taken to perform an ICMP Echo test on
the server.
