Connecting inside the gateway
In this connection, the FrameScope Pro connects to the end
customer router — also known as Integrated Access Device
(IAD) — which can include a modem, DHCP server, router,
WLAN router, VLAN management, VoIP client, switch, print
server, and hardware firewall.
The tap device between the IAD and set-top box allows the
FrameScope Pro to perform all its available active and passive
network tests, particularly Autotest, Auto Discovery, Ping,
TraceRoute, network statistics, FTP and HTTP downloads, and
VoIP testing.
