Network Performance Analyzer Reference
Network Database
The FrameScope Pro listens to the network traffic and actively
interrogates the network device to learn about attached hosts,
servers, switches, and routers. This information is stored in the
Network Database. The database may be saved to or retrieved
from the CompactFlash card or may be uploaded to a PC via the
web interface.
Station List
The Network Database is organized in the following groups
where each station is identified by name (if known) and
address.
Local Stations
Lists the stations with any of the following
parameters.
•
IP addresses on the same subnet as the FrameScope Pro
•
IPX addresses in the same broadcast domain
•
MAC address, but no IP or IPX address
Remote Stations
Lists the stations with any of the following
parameters.
•
IP addresses not on the same subnet as the FrameScope Pro
•
IPX addresses on the other side of a router
Servers
Lists the stations that provide services. These stations
are further grouped by the service type.
Routers
Lists the stations that promote routing capabilities or
transmit traffic from remote stations.
FrameScopes
Lists the other FrameScope Pro units found.
Switches/Bridges
Lists the stations which support bridge
MIBs through SNMP.
SNMP Agents
Lists the stations that run the SNMP agents.
Select any network device from one of these lists to obtained
more detailed information on a device.
