values.
If the Mp3-50, Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40 has been set to use
RealTime Level Controls from DMX-512, MIDI, or Show Control
data, then the ‘half mute’ level is scaled from whatever level
these RealTime controls are setting as the ‘full volume’ levels.
RealTime Level Control: When enabled, Audio Levels can be con-
trolled from:
1) DMX-512 data received through the DMX-512/MIDI serial
port (if DMX-512 reception is enabled).
2) RealTime Serial data received through the RS-232 serial
port.
3) RealTime Serial data received through the DMX-512/MIDI se-
rial port (if net Serial is enabled).
4) MIDI data received through the DMX-512/MIDI serial port (if
MIDI is enabled, and ‘MIDI notes trigger animation playback’
is NOT selected).
In the first three cases above, the ‘level Control Channels’ set
where the data for controlling the left and right outputs comes
from. These can be set to different addresses, or the same ad-
dress if you want a single analog channel to control both left and
right outputs.
To control output levels when triggering AudioFiles from MIDI,
the ‘Note On’ velocity is used. Note velocity values from 1 though
127 translate into audio levels 0-100%. If an AudioFile is started
with a high ‘Note On’ velocity, it will play loudly. If it is started with
a low velocity, it will play more softly.
EQ Settings: You should always try to adjust your EQ before recording
your AudioFiles. This equalizer is used to make up for sins in the
studio by allowing you to adjust the overall EQ of the Mp3-50,
Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40.
Enable Power Amplifier: This is used to turn on and off the onboard
power amplifier. If you are not using the power amplifier, you
should turn it off. If you are using it, you won’t hear much coming
out of it until you turn it ON.
