over the Show Control side of the Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40.
Show Control outputs can be controlled, start and level
control signals sent to the Mp3 Player through the incom-
ing DMX-512.

DMX-512, when enabled, has the highest priority of all

inputs to the Show Control side of the Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-
50/40
. DMX-512 arriving will override the Show data stored
on the flash and serial RealTime updates.

If the DMX-512 signal drops out, the Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-

50/40 will return to normal operations after a delay of ten
seconds.
Enable DMX-512 Checksums: When this checkbox is en-

abled, DMX-512 addresses are limited to 256 chan-
nels. Valid channel addresses are numbered from 0
through 255. Any frame of data will be checked for
validity before it is sent to the outputs by comparing a
sixteen bit checksum located in bytes 256 and 257 of
the DMX-512 data stream. If being controlled by any
Gilderfluke & Company equipment, you should al-
ways keep the DMX-512 checksums enabled.

If DMX-512 Checksums are OFF, then the full 512

channels of DMX-512 can be received by the Mp3-
50/8
or Mp3-50/40. Valid address ranges are from 1
to 512,

Enable MIDI Reception:

Turning this mode on disables DMX-

512, IR Triggers and Net Serial input on the DMX-512/MIDI

serial port. Data output from the DMX-512/MIDI serial port

will be buffered and repeated, but otherwise an unaltered

version of what is received on the input.

This window is used to set the few settings for MIDI re-

ception through the DMX-512/MIDI serial port. MIDI input
has a lower priority than RealTime updates received through
the RS-232 serial port. If the ‘MIDI Notes Trigger Animation
Playback’ checkbox is OFF, then MIDI takes precedence
over Show Control data stored in the Flash memory.

When this mode is enabled, any valid MIDI will take over

the Show Control side of the Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40.
Show Control outputs can be controlled, start and level
control signals sent to the Mp3 Player through the incom-
ing MIDI.
