by the Show Control side of a Mp3-50/8. There are literally thousands of
possible configuration arrangements. Most applications will use one of the
following configurations. The most common configuration is the ‘b’ option.
The ‘Show Capacities’ shown is at 30 frames (updates) per second.

Mp3-50/8 Show Configurations: The Mp3-50/8 has eight Show Control

outputs on one eight bit wide channel. Additional channels you may
choose to use are the MPU Trigger channel (so you don’t have to loose any
digital outputs for triggering the Mp3 Player), RealTime Audio Level Control
Channels, and DMX-512 output channels.

In all but the first of the following examples, the eight digitals can be

used as one analog channel. The Show Control outputs will need to be fed
through a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC-08) to convert the digital chan-
nels to a single analog voltage output.

a) Mp3-50/8 with One Combined Show Control/Mp3 Control

Channel: At a minimum, all you would need to program is the
one eight bit wide Show Control output channel. This would mean
that you would have to give up some number of your digital out-
puts to use for triggering the Mp3 Player. The Mp3 Player is con-
figured for triggering AudioFile starts on the normal 1/4 J6 inputs.

This configuration gives you a show capacity of approximately

five hours in the onboard Flash memory.

Starting with a blank site file, you can create all the channels

you need by:
1) Open PC•MACs, Create a 'New' show. Go to 'Channels

Pulldown'/'Create Multiple Channels....'.

2) Select eight digital and zero analog channels. The first eight

outputs (on channel ‘0’) will go to the Show Control Out-
puts. These will be used for both Show Control and trigger-
