The three flags ‘i’, ‘p’, and ‘s’ are used to help in diagnosing problems:
i)

Shows ‘Y’ if interface between the Show Control and Mp3 Player
sides of the Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40 is active. If this is ‘N’, the
Mp3 player side of the unit is probably not running. Either it has
not booted (most common causes of this is either no SmartMedia
card installed, or SmartMedia card which needs to be ‘blessed’),
or is busy being a hard drive via the USB port.

p) This indicates if a Mp3 file is being played or not. A ‘Y’ indicates

that sound is being played. A ‘N’ indicates that sound is not being
played.

s) This indicates a ‘stuck’ byte in the show control to Mp3 Player in-

terface. It will normally be ‘N’. If it is ‘Y’, it is because the Show
Control side has sent a command to the Mp3 player, and the
Mp3 player has not responded in a timely manner.

The status screen is a snapshot image of the current status of

the Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40. If you want to update the status in-
formation displayed, you must hit the ‘Card Status’ command a
