8) MIDI Control Tab: Disable MIDI, unless you plan to use it.
Disable MIDI Notes Trigger Animation Playback, unless you
plan to use it. Set MIDI Channel Number and Animation First
Note number if you will be using MIDI, otherwise, ignore
them.
9) Flash Setup Tab: Enable Animation from Flash, unless you
will never be using the onboard show storage.
Enable/Disable outputs when stopped, as needed. Leave
the Write Protect Flash unchecked, or you will not be able to
save the show you are creating to the Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-
50/40. Disable it after you have completed programming, if
needed. The Repeater Control Channel and First Animation
channel number were set on a previous tab.
b) Mp3-50/40 with Five Show Control, One Mp3 Control Channel:
The most typical installation for a Mp3-50/8 uses five eight bit
channel for Show Control, and a final channel for controlling the
Mp3 playback. This means that none of the Show Control outputs
are ‘lost’ to the Mp3 Player. The Mp3 Player is configured for trig-
gering AudioFile starts on the MPU input bits.
This configuration gives you a show capacity of approximately
48 minutes in the onboard Flash memory.
Starting with a blank site file, you can create all the channels
you need by:
1) Open PC•MACs, Create a 'New' show. Go to 'Channels
Pulldown'/'Create Multiple Channels....'.
2) Select forty-eight digital and zero analog channels. The digi-
tals that come out of the J6 connector are addressed from
‘0’ through ‘3’. The digitals that will come out of the 1/4 J6
are addressed at ‘4’. The last eight outputs (on address ‘5’)
will be used for triggering the Mp3 Player.
3) Click ‘OK’ to create these channels.
When you have finished programming your show you will
AutoDownload it to the Mp3-50/8. Set the ‘First Channel’ to ‘0’
and the ‘Last Channel’ to ‘5’ on the PC•MACs File Pulldown/Save
as AutoDownload.... window.
In the Mp3 Configurator Program:
1) Track Setup Tab: Point it at your SmartMedia card and set as
needed.
