output from the DMX-512/MIDI serial port will be buffered
and repeated, but otherwise an unaltered version of what is
received on the input.
This enables a mode which sets the DMX-512/MIDI serial
port to 9600 baud and parallels the data received with that
from the RS-232 serial port. This mode allows just about any
number of Mp3-50/8 and Mp3-50/40s to be controlled in
parallel off the same RS-422 serial port.
All the standard serial port commands are valid through
the Net Serial port. Since it is only a networked ‘receive’
port, you will not get any echoes or response through the
DMX-512/MIDI out port. If you do attach a RS-232 serial ter-
minal to the normal RS-232 serial port, you will see all re-
sponses and menus displayed there just as if the com-
mands had come in through the RS-232 serial port.
At 9600 baud, the input can use the optoisolated or RS-
422 switch settings for the DMX-512/MIDI ports.
IR Trigger Mode: Turning this mode on disables DMX-512, MIDI
and Net Serial input on the DMX-512/MIDI serial port. Data
output from the DMX-512/MIDI serial port will be buffered
and repeated, but otherwise an unaltered version of what is
received on the input.
When this mode is enabled, it sets the DMX-512/MIDI
port to 1200 baud, and listens for commands transmitted
by the Gilderfluke & Company IR transmitter and receiver.
The IR Remote is typically used to trigger an animation or
sound system mounted on a vehicle, turntable, or other in-
stallation where wires can’t be used.
The connections to the IR Remote Receiver are as fol-
lows (view is facing end of cable with latch up):
