Mp3-50 Configurator: Audio Setup
(Mp3-50/8, and Mp3-50/40)
This tab is where you set the audio output levels for the Mp3-50, Mp3-
50/8 or Mp3-50/40.
Main Volume Level: This sets the normal audio level for the two out-
puts from the Mp3-50, Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40. It controls both
the line level outputs, and the on board amplifier’s output levels.
This level is overridden if the Mp3-50, Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40
has been set to use RealTime Level Controls from DMX-512, MIDI,
or Show Control data as soon as that data starts arriving. Before
any RealTime level information arrives, then this will set the ‘de-
fault level’ for the outputs.
Half Mute: This sets the normal audio level for the two outputs from
the Mp3-50, Mp3-50/8 or Mp3-50/40 when the unit has been
told to ‘Half Mute’ its outputs. It controls both the line level out-
puts, and the on board amplifier’s output levels. The ‘Half Mute’
level is generally used to duck the audio output to some reduced
level during PA or maintenance so that the audio plays at a more
comfortable level. Although it is usually set to a level lower than
the ‘Main Volume Level’, it can be set anywhere, including higher
