Output Definitions

The number of outputs and their definitions are user configured for each sequence using the
Output Definition Display, Figure 10-6. Outputs may be configured for different values in each
step, but can only assume one data type. Output data types and initial data are configured
using the Specify Output Data menu; output values for each step are assigned in the Step
Definition menus. One output may be assigned multiple values for different steps. For
example, a single output can be used to send new setpoint values to a PID block by
configuring a floating point value in one step and a different floating point value in another
step. Outputs are set upon entry into each step in a sequence, and remain unchanged for the
duration of the step.

The attributes of each output are configured as follows:

Name

The name format is alphanumeric and is limited to eight
characters. Names are not case sensitive. Each name must be
unique; it must not duplicate either another output name or a step
name.

Data Type

Any data type is valid. Use the pull-down menu to obtain the
required type.

Initial Data

The value the output assumes upon download to the instrument.

Data bytes

The number of bytes (1 through 126) to allocate when a HEX or
ASCII data type is configured.
