SEQUENCE BLOCK

10.3.4

Output Management

Upon entry into a new step, the output management function examines the configured
outputs. Each output is set to a configured value or previous (same setting as previous step).
The output settings remain unchanged until the sequence enters a new step. The value of an
output may be different in each step, but must be the same data type.

10.3.5 Quality

Checking

The block performs data quality checks on inputs, outputs, current step time and step number,
block status, and transition expression calculations. Quality checking on the transition
expression calculations and the inputs used in these expressions is part of the transition
expression evaluation function and is handled in the same manner as quality checking in the
Expression Block.

When the Accept Bad Input attribute is set to YES, the input quality checking requirements for
those inputs which are directly connected to outputs can be passed through the block to the
outputs by configuring the Pass Through Quality attribute YES. This transfers responsibility
for quality checking to the receiver of the outputs.

10.4 BLOCK

PARAMETERS

This section describes the Sequence Block data base configuration parameters and the
definition menus. All block attributes are explained in Section 10.4.6. The block inputs,
outputs, and steps are configured via definition menus, Figures 10-4, 10-5, and 10-6. Each
definition menu requires configuration of definition attributes. The definition attributes are
described in Sections 10.4.2, 10.4.3, and 10.4.4.
