8. Edit the Events and Caption field for each bead set. Use the
Default Events field to change the default value. Click Apply to
All to apply the default value to all bead sets. Table 3 lists
selection shortcuts.
9. The bottom of the dialog box is repeated from the General tab.
10. Define the Bead Events for this session. The default is Per Bead
or you can choose Total Beads. If you select Total Beads, edit
the adjacent field. The recommended minimum is 100 per bead
set. The default value for Total beads is 1000.
• Select Per Bead to continue analyzing until each bead set has
met the minimum events as determined on the Bead Set tab.
• Select Total Beads to continue analyzing until the selected
beads meet total beads value. Use Total Beads when you are
not using every bead set in each well. Set the total to desired
high value.
11. Click the Plate Layout tab. The Options Plate Layout tab dialog
appears. See Figure 9. On this tab you define commands for the
desired wells on a plate.

Selected Column Highlight/Select desired rows under
column and right-click. You may
select or deselect.
Events Column Highlight/Select desired rows under
column and right-click. The values
displayed in the “Default Events” field
update the selected rows when you
select “Apply Default” while right-
clicking.
Caption Column If names are defined under this
column, you can right-click selected
rows and “Reset” back to normal
defaults.
Entire Column Select an entire column by clicking
the column heading (Selected,
Events, or Caption).
