7.3 Recorder Area
7.3.1 Overview
The Recorder area allows you to preview edits and to browse through the timeline. The
commands on the Recorder area are only available when an edit is open. The Recorder
area interacts with the timeline as the two areas are different representations of the same
edit. The timeline provides a graphical representation and the recorder, a visual area to
actually view the media represented on the timeline.
The screenshot below highlights the various zones in the Recorder:
The following table briefly describes the various zones on the Recorder area and refers to
the section where the fields are detailed.
Area Description
1. Video
Display It displays the video material loaded on the Timeline. Everything
that is outside the video content has the skin color. Video such as
letterboxed or pillarboxed video will show black bars as these
mattes are part of the video signal.
Parameters related to the display are available via a contextual
menu.
