Adjust the paper feed using the same media type and print conditions you use for printing. For example,
if you are using the auto take-up function, you should use it during feed adjustment. You may need to
adjust the feed again if you load media of a different width, change the feeding or take-up tension, or
adjust the suction.

Before adjusting the feed, make sure you have correctly loaded the media you plan to print on and
selected all the options you plan to use for printing. You should also print a nozzle check pattern to check
for clogged nozzles and clean the print head, if necessary.

Optimizing the Media Settings (Automatic Adjustment)

You can perform an automatic feed adjustment from the product control panel. Make sure the length of
the loaded media is at least 22 inches (558 mm) and the width is 15 inches (388 mm) or wider.

Note:

You may not be able to perform automatic adjustment depending on the media you are using. If an

error occurs, or if you notice banding or graininess in the print results even after automatic adjustment,
perform

Paper Feed Adjust

and

Ruled Line Alignment

from the Print Adjustments menu.

1. From the home screen, select

Paper Setting

> paper source >

Print Adjustments

>

Automatic

Adjustment

.

2. Select

Standard

>

Auto Adjustment

>

Start

.

An adjustment pattern is printed. View the results and determine if a manual adjustment is
necessary.

Adjusting the Paper Feed

You can adjust the paper feed manually and perform a ruled line alignment from the product control
panel if you can still see banding after performing an automatic feed adjustment. Perform

and

Ruled Line Alignment

separately. In both cases, visually inspect the printed pattern and

enter the measurements to perform adjustments.
