Summary of Diagnostic Tests
Diagnostic test
Description
Self Test
Opens and closes the gripper fingers, moves the CHM along the short and long
axes, extends and retracts the entry/exit port, and rotates the drum assembly.
Position to Elem
Moves the CHM to a tape drive, cartridge slot, or the entry/exit port.
Park
Causes the CHM to move to the park position at the bottom of the long axis.
Move Cartridge
Moves a cartridge from one location to another.
Scan
Scans all of the elements.
Scan with Range
Scans a range of elements.
Home Gripper
Causes the gripper to move to its home position (open).
Home CHM
Causes the CHM to move to its home position at the top of the long axis.
Cycle Pick/Place
Causes the CHM to take a cartridge from a specified slot and replace it in the
same slot.
Cycle Gripper
Causes the gripper to open and close.
Cycle S Axis
Causes the CHM to move in and out on the short axis.
Cycle L Axis
Causes the CHM to move up and down on the long axis.
Cycle Drum
Rotates the drum assembly 180 degrees.
Cycle Solenoid
Exercises the solenoid that controls the locking mechanism on the front door.
Cycle E/E
Extends and retracts the entry/exit port.
