9.5 Configuring a Multi-Domain Intersecting-Ring Topology
Configure ERPS domain 1 and one ring at switch 1, switch 2 and switch 3. Switch 1 is
configured as ERPS master node and other two switches are configured as ERPS transit
nodes. Besides, Configure ERPS domain 2 and one ring at switch 4, switch 2 and switch
3. Switch 4 is configured as ERPS master node and other two switches are configured
as ERPS transit nodes.
Interface eth-0-20 at Switch 2 & 3 is the multi-domain intersecting interface; therefore it is
configured in both domains.
Note:
• The ports accessing an ERPS ring must be configured as trunk ports, permitting
the traffic of data VLANs to pass through.
• The ports accessing an ERPS ring must be configured as the members of the
control VLAN, allowing the ERPS packets to be sent and received.
• STP on ports accessing ERPS rings must be disabled.
• The rings within different domains are independent when configuring
multi-domain intersecting rings. Data VLANs in different domains must be isolated
from each other.
• Ssecondary port on the master node can not be configured as the common port of
the multi-domain intersecting ring.
