9.1 Overview of the PSP installation tool

The HP Insight Control for Linux

PSP

installation tool enables you to install any or all PSP

components on one or more

managed system

s. PSPs contain OS-specific bundles of HP ProLiant

optimized drivers, utilities, and management agents.

The HP Insight Control for Linux PSP installation tool is available from the HP Insight Control
user interface:

Deploy

NOTE:

Pack

task cannot be used on managed systems running VMware ESX or VMware ESXi.

Use the Configure

Configure or Repair Agents... task to deploy VMware ESX agents.

The WBEM providers (agents) are embedded in VMware ESXi purchased from HP.

The Insight Control for Linux PSP installation tool is provided as a way for you to install PSP
components in addition to the components that are installed automatically.

IMPORTANT:

The PSP installation tool requires that SSH credentials have been entered into

HP SIM for the target managed systems. Thus, enter the SSH credentials for the target managed
systems if you have not already done so.

Select the following menu item from the HP Insight Control user interface and update the SSH
Settings:

9.2 Required PSP components

When you use HP Insight Control for Linux to install an OS to a managed system, the required
PSP components listed in

Table 9-1

are installed automatically. This table correlates the package

name, the

name (where version is the version information), and the installed agent.
