This command will move the current displayed image to the next step listed in the

Undo/Redo sidebar

(If it is not in the final step).

Forward Demo

1. Open an image, choose

Image>Adjust>Auto Level

, choose

Image>Adjust>Invert

and check

Current

Index

Open

Operation

Now we continue the

Edit>Forward

demo. Since it is in

Index

Edit>Backward

disabled and

Edit>Forward

is enabled. The status is shown in Fig.1.

2. Choosing

Edit>Forward,

the image and the

Index

will advance forward to Fig.2.

Now

Edit>Backward

is enabled;

3. Choose

Edit>Forward

again to go to

Index

3 as shown in Figure 3. Now

Edit>Backward

is still enabled, but because it is in the final step,

Edit>Forward

disabled.
