Test Configuration and Operation
Test Configuration and Operation
With VSVC installed and the Kalypso and Encore systems configured, you
should have machine control from the Kalypso Main panel. Source buttons
mapped to devices should no longer have a
? status indicator.
If control is not working properly, you can use the following procedures to
test whether the problem resides on the Encore system or the Kalypso
system.
Test VTR OUI Operation
1. Click on the Local MACH. CNTRL button at the bottom of the screen.
2. Press the Add button on the lower left to display a list of devices.
3. Select a VTR on the list and press Enter .
4. Load a video tape into the selected VTR, making sure it is in remote
operation mode.
5. Press the Play, Stop, and Rewind buttons on the OUI. Timecode values
on the screen should be updated as the tape moves (
Figure 77 ).

This test proves that a VTR is under Encore control. You can now test
control of the VTR from the Kalypso Main panel.
