4.4.5.
Verifying the Grounding
Proceed as follows:
5. After connecting the Earth cable between the 8-port Commverter and the FCC
enclosure earth bar, use a multi-meter to verify its is properly grounded
6. Verify impedance [up to 5 Ω] between the 8-port Commverter chassis and the FCC
earth.

SUB-MODULE INSTALLATION AND GROUNDING
NOTE
When installing piggy-backs on the CommVerter, power
to the board should disconnected
4.5.1.
Installation of Protective Isolator Sheet
Before installing a sub-module on the CommVerter main board, insert a Protective Isolator Sheet
(P/N 815608200) between the board and the sub-module. This Isolator Sheet prevents damage
during removal of the item from the board due to the use of a screwdriver or other unsuitable sharp
device.
4.5.2. Connector Mechanical Outline – Check Procedure
When installing a sub-module on the CommVerter main board, carefully check that the sub-module
connector mechanical outline is identical with the connector in the Main board. The current
connectors have a rectangular form, where in previous versions of the main board, the connectors
were circular. Do not use force, you may damage the boards!!!
4.5.3.
Sub-Module - Grounding
Once you have installed any sub-module (piggy-back board) on the main board, secure the sub-
module by locking it with the appropriate screw. This screw also serves as protective grounding.
4.5.4. Sub-Module Installation – Wiring Label Placing
In enclosed type CommVerter, after placing a piggy-back board on the PCB, stick the supplied
wiring label associated with the specific installed piggy-back. The label should be placed on the
rear panel, under the relevant piggy-back connector.
