2.5.3 DSP-DIMM Module
The blade provides up to 10 slots for DSP-DIMM modules. You may install and/or remove DSP-
DIMM modules in order to match the DSP computing power you need. The corresponding
installation/removal procedures are described in this section.
The location of the DSP-DIMM Modules are shown in Figure "ATCA-8330 Blade Layout" on page
45 .
Installation Procedure
To install a DSP-DIMM module:
1. Remove the blade from the system as described in Installing and Removing the Blade on
page 53 .
2. Remove Top-side cover.
3. Open locks of memory module socket.
4. Press module carefully into socket.
As soon as the memory module has been fully inserted, the locks automatically close.
5. If applicable, repeat steps 2 to 3 to install further modules.
6. Reinstall the Top-side cover.
2.6 Installing and Removing the Blade
The blade is fully compatible to the AdvancedTCA standard and is designed to be used in
AdvancedTCA shelves.
Damage of Circuits
Electrostatic discharge and incorrect module installation and removal can damage circuits
or shorten their life.
Before touching the module or electronic components, make sure that you are working in
an ESD-safe environment.
