Results by Question
The default Results by Question report displays the following elements:
l
Question text
l
Question type
l
Answer choices
l
Responses (percentage and
count)
l
Chart
Checking the boxes in the right panel
adjusts the details of the report.
Selections will be remembered for future
use.
l
Question Statistics - Adds a
table to the report under each
question that displays the Mean,
Median, Variance and Standard
Deviation for each question.
l
Difficulty and Discrimination Index - Displays the difficulty/discrimination index on a per question basis.
The Difficulty Index

is a measure of how difficult the question was to correctly answer. It shows the percentage of
participants that answered the question correctly based on the entire group of active participants. The Difficulty Index is
calculated using the following formula: D = c / n

D = Difficulty Index
l
c = Number of participants that answered the question correctly
l
n = Total number of active participants
The Discrimination Index

for a particular question is based on the point biserial correlation coefficient, which
measures the correlation between the correct answer on a question and the total test scores of the active participants.
To calculate this statistic, you must first determine the following:
l
Total number of Participants that answered the question correctly
l
Total number of Participants that answered the question incorrectly
A Participant that has not responded to a question is considered to have answered incorrectly.
l
Mean total score of the group of Participants that have answered the question correctly
l
Mean total score of the group of Participants that answered the question incorrectly
l
Mean total score of all active Participants
