5.1 Scheduled Maintenance
This chapter provides scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting procedures that can be
performed by the operator. Any troubleshooting or maintenance beyond the level
presented in this chapter should be performed by a qualified technician.
The scheduled maintenance that should be performed is periodic cleaning (approximately
every 3 months). Clean the cover with a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
Use a small vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the carriage, platen, paper tractors,
paper out sensors, and printer throat. A dry, lint-free cloth may be used to clean
accumulated dirt from the carriage shafts and the platen.
