Problem
Solution
Printer appears to
print more slowly.
The following conditions can make the printer
appear to be slower:
Feature 9 (NLQ) is turned on.
Feature 51 (Unidirectional) is turned on.
Feature 96 (Doubiestrike) is turned on.
Paper tearing on
right or left side.
Reset the right margin using Feature 6. This
ensures that the printhead does not move past the
edge of the paper.
Move form slightly to the left so edge of printhead
does not leave the paper. This may require the
user to reset the left margin with Feature 5.
Paper won’t advance.
Verify the correct setting of Features 2, 3,11 and
39. For information on how to set these features,
see Chapter 2.
Error codes

Error code 6508 is a non-volatile memory fault.
Press the Continue key to load the default values
in place of the programmed features settings. You
will have to reload any Features that were
programmed into the printer.
If the error persists, contact the dealer.
Error code 1111 can indicate some debris in the
carriage path (paper) or broken cables. Check for
and remove the debris. Check for broken cables.
If damaged, contact the dealer.
5.3.2
Performing a Default Reset
If the printer continues to ignore data sent from the host computer, perform a
default reset. Note that when you perform a default reset, the printer loads the
factory-set features list. To reload your features, see the feature listing in
Appendix E and F.
A default reset is performed as follows:
1.
Press and hold the Clear key.
2.
Press and release the Reset key.
3.
Continue to hold the Clear key until the printhead resets to the left.
