To disable a record-enabled audio track
Do one of the following:
µ
Click the (red) Record Enable button a second time—in either the track list or Mixer.
µ
Use the Record Enable Track key command, default assignment: Control-R.
To disable all record-enabled audio tracks
µ
Option-click the (red/flashing) Record Enable button of any record-enabled audio track.
Record-Enabling MIDI Tracks
You can enable one or more software instrument tracks for recording.
To enable one or more software instrument tracks for recording
Do one of the following:
µ
Click the Record Enable button on the desired track (or tracks) in the track list.
µ
Click the track header of a software instrument track that is not record-enabled.
Note: This action turns off the record-ready state of any other software instrument tracks
that are already record-enabled.
To disable a record-enabled software instrument track
Do one of the following:

Click the (red) Record Enable button in the track list.
µ
Use the Record Enable Track key command, default assignment: Control-R.
Record-Enabling Audio and MIDI Tracks Simultaneously
There may be occasions when you want to simultaneously record audio and software
instrument tracks—perhaps to capture a live band recording with the keyboard player
using one or more Logic Express software instruments.
Important:
You can activate the Record Enable buttons only of audio tracks or channel
strips that have a unique input.
To enable multiple audio and software instrument tracks for recording

Click the Record Enable button on the audio tracks you want to record to.

Click the Record Enable buttons on the software instrument tracks you want to record
to.
