• No recording is possible.
• New regions cannot be created.
If the Track Protect button is not visible in the track list, you can display it using the Track
Header Configuration dialog.
Clicking a Track Protect button toggles between Locked and Unlocked modes.
Command-clicking a Track Protect button in the track list protects all tracks in the currently
selected display level (or folder). If tracks were already protected, they will be unprotected.
Using Track Button Slide Activation
Track buttons on arrange tracks (Solo, Mute, Hide, Track Protect, Freeze) support slide
activation, which is similar to running your finger across several channel strip buttons on
good hardware mixing consoles.
As a usage example of slide activation in Logic Express, click and hold the Mute button
of one track, and drag the pointer up or down. The Mute buttons of all swiped tracks
switch to the same state.
Simply drag over the Mute buttons of the same tracks to undo the Mute.
Drum Replacement or Doubling in the Arrange Area
Logic Express offers the drum replacement or doubling feature, which allows you to
change drum sounds on an audio track without having to rerecord the entire track. You
can use an audio track that contains a recorded single drum signal to create a software
instrument track with matching MIDI trigger notes, which is then played by the EXS24.
