If a file format translator plug-in supports writing as well as reading the
format, you can use the Save command to save images using that format as
you would with any other file. Likewise, when you choose Save As from the
file menu without releasing the mouse button, the Save As submenu displays
the names of all the file formats PhotoFlash can write, including any
supported by the currently installed plug-in modules.

Note: When you choose the Save command, there are some cases (discussed
in “Saving an Image” in Chapter 2) in which a Save As dialog box appears for
the default file type. If you wish, you can make the format your file format
translator creates the default file type. To do so, choose Preferences from the
Edit menu and change the file format in the Default File Type pop-up menu.

Scripting plug-in modules

Some plug-in modules support scripting and others do not. To fully support
PhotoFlash’s scripting interface, a plug-in needs to be modified by the
company that makes it.

To find out if your plug-in can be scripted, experiment with recording actions
you use it to perform, check its documentation, or contact the company that
sells the plug-in module and ask whether it supports PhotoFlash’s scripting
interface.

Developers of plug-in modules who wish to make their products scriptable
should contact Developer Technical Support at Apple Computer, Inc.
