Apple Macintosh PhotoFlash User Manual

background image

PhotoFlash displays the directory dialog box for saving a script. By default,
PhotoFlash saves scripts in the Scripts folder.

5

Use the directory dialog box to name the script and specify its location on your
hard disk.

If you want the script’s name to appear in the Script palette and the
Script menu, save it in the Scripts folder or a folder within the Script folder.
Folders within the Scripts folder appear as menu items with submenus in
the Script menu.

To try out the script you just recorded, open another image file to test it on
and choose the script’s name from the Script menu.

You don’t have to know how to read scripts to record and run them. But if
you’re curious, select the name of your recorded script in the Script palette
and click the Edit button. The Script Editor program that comes with
AppleScript opens the script so you can read or edit it. You can also use the
Script Editor to add or edit a description of what the script does.

For more information about editing scripts, see “Editing a Script” at the end
of this chapter.
