Recording and saving a script
Recording scripts is the fastest way to learn about PhotoFlash’s scripting
capabilities. Before you begin to experiment with recording, it’s a good idea to
use the Duplicate command to make a copy of the image you want to work
with, in case something goes wrong.
To record a script, follow these steps:
1
If the Script palette isn’t visible on your screen, choose Show Script Palette from the
Window menu.
If the Show Script Palette command is dimmed, you may be using a version
of system software that doesn’t support AppleScript, or you may not have
installed AppleScript correctly. See the beginning of this chapter for details.
2
Click the Record button.
In a few seconds the Apple icon at the left side of your computer’s menu bar
begins to flash, alternating with the recording icon.
This means AppleScript is ready to record your actions.
3
Perform the actions you want to record.
Start with something simple, like rotating or enhancing an image. After
you’ve recorded a few short scripts, try more complex tasks like converting
files or using several Image menu or Enhance menu commands in a row.
4
When you’re finished, click the Stop button.
