Running a script – Apple Macintosh PhotoFlash User Manual

Running a script
If a script performs an action on the frontmost window, the action may differ
depending on whether the window contains a catalog or an image. For
example, a script that blurs a selected area of the frontmost window works
correctly if you run it while an image is frontmost, but generates an error
message if you try to run it while a catalog is frontmost.
Make sure you know what a script does before you use it. If you’re not sure,
select the script’s name in the Script palette and check the description at the
bottom of the palette. If you can’t see the description area, click the triangle in
the Script palette’s lower-left corner.
The first time you run a script, choose Duplicate from the File menu to create
a new untitled copy of the catalog or image you want to run the script on.
That way you won’t risk changing the original if something goes wrong.
To run a script, perform any of these actions:
m Choose the script’s name from the Script menu.
m Double-click the script’s name in the Script palette.
m Select the script’s name in the Script palette and then click the Run button.
m Drag selected thumbnails over the script’s name and release the mouse
button to run the script on the corresponding images.
