USER GUIDELINES
The measurement of relative humidity content of materials to be tested using a
moisture analyzer MAX series is much shorter and simpler if compared to a
traditional method (weighing – drying – weighing – calculating). It is necessary to
remember that it is a different measurement method, this requires an individual
selection of drying parameters to each dried substance, such as:
•
Drying temperature,
•
Sample mass,
•
Drying time.
In case of a series of measurements carried out in the same drying temperature it is
recommended to reject the factor of the first completed measurement – as the
measurement result can be burdened with an additional error related to thermal
stabilization of the drying chamber and the moisture analyzer.
The sample to be tested has to evenly spread on the whole surface of the drying
pan. Substances of coarse structure has to be disintegrated (crushed or grind)
before measuring their humidity content.
In case of testing humidity content of substances that easily release water it is
recommended to set short sampling time, and for materials in which water is bound,
set the sampling time for longer, but selected by carried out tests.
When testing relative humidity content of a sample that while drying forms an
impermeable layer on its surface, it is recommended to use indirect substances,
such as sand, absorbent paper, filters, etc.
