Right-click the snapclone group.

Select Manage > Add Task. The Add Task wizard opens to the Enter Task parameters screen.

In the Task name field, enter a name for the task.

In the Destination name field, enter the name of the destination virtual disk that will be created.

From the “Set permission to host with” dropdown list, select one of the following:

• Without permissions—Select this option if you do not want to assign permission to any host

to be able to access the destination virtual disk before the task is complete.

• Local domain: VSM Server—Select this option if you want to assign permission to a VSM

server host to be able to access the destination virtual disk while the task is in process.

• Local domain: UDH—Select this option if you want to assign permission to a UDH host(s) to

be able to access the destination virtual disk while the task is in process.

In the Comment field, enter any desired text.

If you selected Local domain: VSM Server or Local domain: UDH in step 5, continue with step
10. If you selected Without permissions in step 5, click Next. The Select destination domain
screen appears.

Select the destination domain for the task. If you have saved the domain you want to select to a
folder, you can navigate to the folder in the tree on the left of the screen.

Click Add. The domain you selected appears in the lower right area of the screen. If you want
to deselect the domain, select the domain in the lower right area, and click Remove.

Click Next. The Select Storage Pool screen appears, displaying the list of available storage pools.
If the destination domain is a remote domain, the screen displays the storage pools on the remote
domain.

If you would like to select a storage pool from a folder, navigate to the folder in the tree on the
left of the screen. The Select Storage Pool screen displays the list of storage pools in the selected
folder.

Select a storage pool from which you want to allocate capacity to the destination virtual disk.

13.

Click Add. The storage pool you selected appears in the lower right area of the screen. If you
want to deselect the storage pool, select the storage pool in the lower right area, and click
Remove.

If you selected Without permissions in step 5, continue with step 25. Otherwise, click Next. The
Select Host(s) screen appears, displaying the list of available hosts.

15.

If you would like to select a host from a folder, navigate to the folder in the tree on the left of the
screen. The Select Host(s) screen displays the list of hosts that have been copied to the selected
folder.

16.

Select a host to which you want to assign permission to access the destination virtual disk. Click
Add. The host you selected appears in the lower right area of the screen. If you want to deselect
the host, select the host in the lower right area, and click Remove.

17.

If required, modify the host’s permission by clicking the Permission field for the host and selecting
one of the following from the dropdown list:

• Full—Read/write permission.
• Read—Read-only permission.
• None—No permission.

18.

If required, repeat steps 15 through 17 to assign permission to additional hosts.
