To view information related to a host group, in the host groups list, select a host group. The following
tabs are displayed in the tabs area below the host groups list.

Properties—Provides the same general information about the selected host group as described in

Table 64

.

Host—Displays the hosts in the selected host group.

Host Presentation—Provides information about the VSM storage elements, such as virtual disks,
virtual disk groups, snapshots, and VDG snapshots, to which the host group has access permission.

Security—Displays which permissions are assigned to users and user groups for managing the
host group.

Disabled Operations—Shows which operations you cannot currently perform on the selected host
group and the reason for each. See the release notes for a current list of disabled operations.

These tabs are described in the following sections.

Host group information—Host tab

The Host tab displays all the hosts included in the host group. Only UDHs can be included in a host
group.

Property

The row number.

No

The name of the host.

Name

The type of agent that runs on the host. Possible values:

No Agent (UDH)—The host is a UDH that communicates through DPMs and
has no agent installed.

Agent Type

The current status of the host. Possible values:

Present—This indicates that the DPMs report that all HBAs associated with this
host are recognized and active.

Degraded—This indicates that the DPMs are not discovering all the HBAs as-
sociated with this host. However, the host has at least one HBA that is dis-
covered properly.

Failed—This indicates that all the DPMs that support the host are not commu-
nicating with the active VSM server. The host inherits the failed status of the
DPMs that support it.

Absent—This indicates that all the HBAs associated with the host are no longer
visible on the fabric. This status is reported in the discovery information provided
by DPMs.

Offline—A user has moved the host into offline status.
