Managing snapshot and VDG snapshot permissions

You can configure host permissions for accessing snapshots and VDG snapshots as follows:

Add host permission from a snapshot or VDG snapshot

Change a host’s permission from a snapshot or VDG snapshot

Remove a host’s permission from a snapshot or VDG snapshot

Change the LUN used to present a snapshot to hosts

Adding host permission

If a snapshot or VDG snapshot has no host permissions, you can add permission to a maximum of
one VSM server.

You can add permission to more than one UDH host, provided that the hosts have multipath software
to handle a shared resource, such as a snapshot.

To add host permission to a snapshot or VDG snapshot:

1.

In the navigation tree, expand the Entities node.

2.

Click the Snapshots or VDG Snapshots node. The snapshots or VDG snapshots list appears in
the list area.
