begins with a d . If you do not precede this replacement string with the
R subcommand, the result is:

5. Typing Two or More Subcommands on an Editing Line
When you want to give another subcommand on the same editing line
as the I or R subcommand, use the character sequence // to terminate
the R or I subcommand. Then give the next subcommand. For example,
if the current file is:
1 Georgie pudding and pastry pie,
2 Tickled the girls and made them shy;
3 When the bullies came out to play,
4 Georgie Porgie ran away.
To change the line:
1 Georgie pudding and pastry pie,
to:
1 Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie,
