5.29.1 Service
• Check that the sheaves (3 and 4) rotate freely.
• Check the sheaves for wear and damage.
• Check the side-plates of the hook block are tight and not damaged.
• Check that the hook rotates freely.
• Check that the safety catch functions properly.
• Check the hook forging for wear, burrs, deformation and cracks.

When the safety catch is straight, but it is able to flip over the tip of the hook, check the hook
forging dimensions.
