Warnings

Electrical Shock

Never open the ALLY PLUS when the power is on or when it is connected

to any power source. Opening the ALLY PLUS may void the warranty.

Standard Factory Setup

Unless otherwise requested, the ALLY PLUS is shipped with the following

defaults:

 Other printer type (non-Xerox)

 Parallel output

 ASCII character set

 132 column right margin

If the user’s equipment does not match these parameters, the relevant

configuration settings on the ALLY PLUS must be changed.

Serial Port Setup

With serial interfacing, the baud rate, parity, word length (data bits), stop

bits and handshaking settings of the ALLY PLUS must match the serial port

settings of the printer and alternate host (if using an alternate host). If the

user’s equipment is not set up to use the default settings, these configuration

parameters in Option Group #40 must be changed. The default settings for

the serial ports are:

 9600 baud

 No parity

 8 data bit word length

 1 stop bit

 RTS/CTS flow control (handshaking)
