6287 ULTRA COMPATIBILITY
General Information
The 6287 ALLY PLUS allows users to program the unit with data streams
originally used to program other AGILE products, including the 6287
ULTRA, 6287 IC and 6287 IC+ (although this section will use the ULTRA
to refer to all three products). Customers who are either upgrading their
protocol converters from the ULTRA to the ALLY PLUS, or who are
adding one or more ALLY PLUS units to an environment with ULTRA
units, can program both devices with the same data stream. The ALLY
PLUS supports both ULTRA coax host configuration data streams and
ULTRA configuration from an alternate host.
6287 ULTRA Configuration Compatibility
The ALLY PLUS will accept configuration commands intended for the
6287 ULTRA and execute the equivalent ALLY PLUS commands.
The ALLY PLUS mimics three different ways of programming the ULTRA
configuration options:
• Off-line coax host configuration using Trigger 1 - Question Mark
(¢?)
• On-line coax host configuration using Trigger 1 - Question Mark -
Trigger 1 - Trigger 1 - Question Mark (¢?¢¢?)
• Off-line alternate host configuration
The following ULTRA programmable function string programming is
supported:
• Off-line coax host PFS configuration using Trigger 1 - Percent Sign
(¢%)
• On-line coax host PFS configuration using Trigger 1 - Question
Mark - Trigger 1 - Trigger 1 - Percent Sign (¢?¢¢%)
• Off-line alternate host PFS configuration using the Percent Sign (%)
