RDA Setup:
Option 2 This option uses two computers: the IntelliTrack workstation application,
IIS and ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center software reside on
the local computer; SQL Server resides on a remote computer.
Warning:This RDA setup option does not work with MSDE. You must use
SQL Server or SQL Express with this RDA setup option.
Option 2 Considerations
1. Works in a domain environment only.
2. Works with SQL Server only.
Security Requirements: Option 2
When you use Remote Data Access Setup: Option 2, please be aware of
the following security requirements.
1. The installer must have administrative privileges on the PC.
2. You may only use SQL Server Authentication with SQL Server.
3. A domain user account is required.
4. Since IIS and SQL Server reside on different computers, the Create IIS
Dependencies Utility cannot be used to configure IIS and SQL Server
permissions; they must be manually configured. Please refer to
“Manu-
ally Configuring Internet Information Services on Windows 2000 or XP
Operating Systems” on page 24
or “Manually Configuring Internet Infor-
mation Services in Windows Vista Operating Systems” on page 25 for
more information.
