Numbers Help
Dialog
When you enter a carrier’s tracking number format, it must follow the cor-
rect symbology. For a quick reference to the tracking number symbology,
click the ? button in the Carrier list window. The Tracking Numbers Help
window appears. It provides a quick symbology reference.

exactly. It is a fixed character in the bar code.
For example: a UPS tracking number may be numeric or alphanu-
meric.
A numeric tracking number follows this symbology:
&1&Z################
Following the symbology above, this means that:
--the first two characters of this tracking number are always the fixed
characters of 1Z.
--the remaining sixteen characters in this tracking number are any six-
teen numeric characters.
Therefore, 1Z1234567890123456 would match this symbology.
1Z0000000000000000 would also match this symbology.
An alphanumeric tracking number follows this symbology:
&1&Z????????????????
Following the symbology above, this means that:
--the first two characters of this tracking number are always the fixed
characters of 1Z.
--the remaining sixteen characters in this tracking number are any six-
teen alphanumeric characters.
Therefore, 1Z12E8BCD4PN9216CG would match this symbology.
